Beta models[]

The Ink Demon[]

3DConceptBendy

Concept Bendy[]

When Chapter 1 started its development, the very first "concept" of Bendy resembled his original cartoon form with a large, floating head sporting a wide, toothy mouth going vertically around his head, originally designed by theMeatly. His glove hands shared similarly to the original Bendy's early glove design, with three darts each, and his face looks identical to Bendy, but without his grin. He would split his head in half to reveal a terrifying, leech-like mouth. He is also supposed to be smaller in the game, but his model in the Archives is almost at Henry's exact height. This design was entirely changed later on and was recycled for the Boris clone's model with a few noticeable changes. The texture file for his face and gloves can be even found in the first prototype's game files, as this version has never appeared in any version of the game and can only be seen in the Archives chapter.

Monster Bendy better-0

Alpha Bendy[]

From Chapter 1's early prototype before Chapter 2, the Ink Demon's "alpha" design is entirely different comparing to his future redesigned builds, having a large body and lack of arms and legs. The shape of his head is very human-like, squarish instead of the later circular one, and sports a smaller grin. His horns are more spread out instead of curved, while his bow-tie has a nearly same model as his concept version. He also appears at the same height as Henry. The model was originally designed by theMeatly before hiring Pascal Cleroux to redesign the model. This version is jokingly referred to as “bird poop with a smile” by the development team. It is noted that the alpha the Ink Demon's bow-tie in the Archives chapter is missing as a development oversight. His concept artwork shows that the Ink Demon's "alpha" form was intended to have fully developed arms and legs but scrapped likely due to time constraints. He also wore both gloves, each sporting two buttons.

Untitled

Beta Bendy[]

For Chapters 2 and 3's release prior to Chapter 4 coming out, the Ink Demon's "beta" design almost resembles his final build. His body bears a less skeletal appearance, and his left glove hand sported two buttons like the original Bendy, drenched in ink with a humanized pinkie-finger poking out of the side. His left foot was much more puddle-like and flatter, and his grin has a less amount of details. He lacked visible hump spines, and his right human hand was partly painted with white colors. His bow tie is slightly rotated to his right for the same reason it is shifted. Before the release of Chapter 3, the Ink Demon simply makes the ground ink-covered during chase scenes. He gained the wall veins on Chapter 3's release, along with a few more animations.

Projectio3DL

The Projectionist[]

In the first release of Chapter 3, while his full model appearance for his beta version was not much drastically different, his textures are rather slightly different; his projector head has different textures, and has less amount of ink for his body, exposing more of his clothing.

Searcher

Searchers[]

Their model from the second Bendy and the Ink Machine chapter's first release slightly resembles to their original concept art, and they were slower and more fragile. Instead of crawling, they just move in a similar fashion to a slug's movement while swaying their thin arms. They easily collapse into pieces by simply running into Henry for damage or even into obstacles or walls like self-sacrifice. Afterwards, when getting killed, the glob-like masses where the Searchers spawned from slowly shrink into the floor and dissipate. They were given the newer model upon Chapter 3's release, and on Chapter 4's release they were given new and better ink puddles.

Sammy Lawrence[]

Sammy Pose

From the first release of Chapter 2 and still for the Chapter 3 update until Chapter 4's release, Sammy has a slightly different model design. His body structure is slender and has a more inhuman-looking skin texture. His overalls are fairly different, looking bigger and slightly loose. His shoes and the lower parts of his overalls are melted into ink, appearing to be made out of sticky glue when he walks. His head is also different, possessing human ears and a mouth. While his mask looks identical, it has a duplicated texture from the back while the hole from the mask's mouth is bigger.

Boris Clone[]

PrototypeChapter 1 Dead Boris

Alpha Boris[]

From the prototype of Chapter 1, the Boris clone's model was originally very different from the final version. The old model is slightly taller and with a noticeable lack of detail in the face. It has no overalls or gloves, bigger shoes, an open mouth, and six symmetrical ribs. Both eyes, in a cartoony X-shape, appear to made out of string, as if they were sewn shut. The cut into the body's torso is a Y-shaped incision, similar to a real-world autopsy. Instead of being tied down with straps, it is fastened down with buckles. This model was originally designed by theMeatly before hiring Pascal Cleroux to redesign the model when developing Chapter 2: The Old Song along with the Chapter 1's first remastered update.

Beta Boris[]

In both updates for the release of Chapter 2 and 3, the Boris clones' operation tables are far simple and less detailed in design, however the model of the Boris Clone is the same.

Features[]

Respawn Pentagram[]

Ritual

A respawning pentagram as seen in Chapter 2's early version.

The respawning pentagram is an early version of the game's respawning point, first introduced in update patch 0.2 for Bendy and the Ink Machine only in Chapter 2. Upon Chapter 3's release, it was ultimately replaced by the Bendy Statue.

It is a pentagram drawn in ink, with a black blob in the center. If one looks carefully at the blob in the pentagram, it appears to be slowly moving in a similar fashion to a heart beating. Around the area are several ink splotches.

The respawning pentagram can be only found in the hallway close to the doorway of the Music Department. If killed and respawned, Searchers will have a rare chance to be spawned in waiting for Henry. The respawning point's symbol is made up of exactly five ink-drawn pentagrams layered on top of each other. Each pentagram is rotated by 72 degrees.

Textures[]

Other pedestal item portraits[]

Found in the files for the first chapter's early prototype, there are two unused files of different portraits for the break room, Presumably early version of the Bendy Doll and Inkwell portraits. one is shown with a long stitch (left) and the other splotched with a single drop of ink (right).

Alternate version of wood[]

Two unusual-looking square-shaped wooden boards with one of them consisting somewhat a plug socket. They were located within the game files for Chapter 1's earlier prototype, and what they were supposed to be exactly used for is unknown.

Cement[]

Located in Chapter 2's game files upon release, there was an unused texture of cement, supposed to be used for flooring. The floor texture itself seems misleading to the game's overall style.

"Open" Elevator Pad[]

There is an identical elevator pad texture from Chapter 3's first released game files with the text "OPEN" instead of "DOOR" under the door button. This is perhaps the early version of the elevator's button pad with the text changed later on due to the elevator being also able to close the gates, not just opening.

Seeing Tool Messages[]

There are a few Seeing Tool messages that were left unused or have not been found yet. They consist of the following:

  • A secret "MORE THAN JUST A CARTOON" message. The location this message would have been put in is unknown.
  • A secret "MY BUDDY BORIS" message. Just like the previous message, it is unknown where this could have been. However, it heavily implies Buddy Boris.
  • A secret "A HEART" message. It is unknown where this could have been either, but it may reference the final task in Chapter 3, meaning it could have been placed in Level 14.
  • A secret "SHAMED AND DISGRACED" message. This most likely would have been placed near the Ink Maker in the cavern, as it references the song that plays on its radio, Can't Be Erased. It was likely scrapped due to the fact the radio only appears by creating it via the Ink Maker.
  • A secret "I WILL SET US FREE." message. It is unknown where this would have been placed, but it is speculated it would be placed on a "He Will Set Us Free" ink scrawling.
  • Sammy Lawrence's name. This most likely would have been placed on a coffin, since on other coffins there are names of employees.
  • Shawn Flynn's name. This probably would have been placed on a coffin, like the Sammy message.
  • A secret "ME" message. It is thought that this could've been placed on a coffin, most likely referencing Henry.
  • Simply a dot, likely to appear on the cutout near Henry's Desk.

Extras[]

Glitch

The hidden extras menu, founded upon the release of Chapter 4.

Extra menu[]

In the release of Chapter 4, while the game's main menu screen is completely updated, the extras menu is hidden by accessing with a bug. The extras menu selection look exactly like from the hidden screenshot, albeit with the concept art selection removed. Nothing happens when clicking on both extra selections.

With Chapter 5's release for the game's complete edition, it is no longer possible to access the extras menu anymore, thus ultimately rejected for the favor of implementing the unlockable chapter after completing, The Archives.

Menu Screenshots[]

From within the game files of Chapter 3's release, there are two screenshots that display an early version for the game's main menu.

The first screenshot shows the early paused option menu, containing the "EXTRAS" section with addition of concept arts, unlockables, and credits.

The second screenshot displays the game's unused save data which was visible when hovering the mouse cursor to the "CONTINUE" section from the game's main menu screen. The save data consists of only three save slots.

Post-Credit Images[]

The post-credit images are screen-sized images used for Bendy and the Ink Machine, until the grand release of Chapter 5. It was used between after the ending credits and before sending back to the main menu screen.

In Chapter 1's earliest prototype, the post-credit ending, unlike all which would follow (besides the Chapter 5 one), was animated. It depicted a dark, dimly lit, ritual room splattered with ink. Seconds later, Ink Bendy in his "alpha" model emerges, though only his mouth, bowtie, and silhouetted features could be seen.

Bendyemerges

In Chapter 2's first release before it was removed from Chapter 3's update, the post-credit image shows the beta Sammy's liquefied remains along with his mask. The image consists of multiple things, including the axe, a record, Bendy's cutout, and even Buddy Boris' legs.

37

In Chapter 3's first release until Chapter 4, there are two alternative post-credit images depending on which one path Henry takes. Beating the game lately after taking the "demon path" room, it shows the "Path of the Demon" ending, revealing Ink Bendy, Piper, Striker, Fisher, and the Swollen Searcher. If choosing the "angel path" room, towards the end will reveal the "Path of the Angel" ending, showing Buddy Boris strapped to the table with Twisted Alice's shadow. This "Path of the Angel" ending screen's depicted location has a similar layout to the laboratory from the 1933 Mickey Mouse cartoon "The Mad Doctor".

Object Icons In The Menu[]

During the release of chapter 2 through chapter 3, each chapter screen has an icon object, in chapter 1 a chair, in chapter 2 a bass, and in chapter 3 a barrel, all of these icons were removed in the release of chapter 4.

Language Support Icons[]

Located in the game files for Chapter 4, there are multiple icons each with a different nation flag. Though the blue color for all icon backgrounds heavily unfits the game's overall atmosphere and style. Their purpose is suppose to be used for the player to choose the game's language; between English, French, Spanish, and Arabic.

With the release of the full game, there is now a multi-language support but these kinds of icons remain unused, therefore Arabic isn't present in the final game.

Cartoon Clips[]

In Chapter 3: Rise and Fall, while the Tombstone Picnic animation clips are seen inside the Inky Abyss, three of the clips went unused.

In Chapter 5: The Last Reel, some short Bendy cartoon clips were found in the game files, including The Dancing Demon cartoon and the Bacon Soup advertisement commercial clips. The reason behind their removal was either time constraints or not having enough room to fit in appropriate locations.

Boris Glitch Screen[]

Ztyj58lnqb821

A strange, meme-like screen image found in the game files for the mobile port. The screen consists of three glitched up Borises in the corridor paths screenshot with the "BORIS comes FOR THE SOUL" texts partly visible. This image is likely a joke.
